First-Grace Parish has three women's groups that offer the chance
for women to get together for fellowship, Bible study, and to
do mission work. Each of the three groups meets monthly.
FRAUEN VEREIN: meets at Grace Church in North Branch on
the second Wednesday
of every month at 2:00p.m. Frauen Verein is German and means,
"women's group". They share prayer, fellowship, as well
as assemble some beautiful handstitched quilts, and they host
monthly card parties for the community. This group has been
active since it was originally organized on November 8, 1905.
LADIES AID SOCIETY: meets at First Church on the first Wednesday
of every month at
1:30 p.m. They share devotions, do mission outreach work
for the Seafarer's and other organizations, and conduct fundraisers
for needed church items such as new carpet, repairs, and kitchen
items. Congratulations to the Ladies Aid Society on their
100th anniversary!
WELCA: (Women of the ELCA) is an evening group for women
in the parish.
It meets on the Second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. (Please call for location).
This group enjoys Bible study, making yearly Christmas & Easter
projects for our elderly parishoners, as well as making banners
for both churches. This group has been meeting since the
1990's, and thus is relatively new.
